Smarter Community Join Requests with Workflow Automation

OS Communities just got more powerful. You can now automate how community join requests are reviewed, qualified, and approved using Workflows.

What’s New

New “Requested to Join Group” Trigger
A new workflow trigger can automatically fire whenever someone requests to join one of your community groups.

Filter by Membership Answers
Build different automation paths based on:

  • The community group they’re requesting to join

  • Their answers to membership questions

  • Specific responses or qualification criteria

AI-Powered Screening
Membership answers can be sent through AI inside your workflow to automatically evaluate requests. For example, you can identify spam, low-quality submissions, or applicants who don’t meet your criteria.

Automate the Next Step
Based on their answers, OS can automatically:

  • Grant access to the group

  • Route the request for manual review

  • Add or remove tags

  • Send welcome messages

  • Trigger additional automations

Why It Matters

If you’re growing a private community, you no longer need to manually review every join request.

You can build smarter approval systems that automatically qualify new members based on their actual responses—saving time while giving you more control over who enters your community.

How to Use It

Go to Workflows → Create Workflow → Add Trigger → Requested to Join Group, select your community group, and build your automation from there.

Note: The group must have request-based access enabled for this trigger to work. AI actions may also have additional usage costs.
